About me | Kate Crane

I’m Kate! I am a maker and creator of all things colourful and messy from my rural home in the north of England. I have always been a creative soul but discovered mixed media art in 2008 and my enthusiasm for colourful expressive art continues to this day. In the early days I designed rubber stamps (wooden mounted!!) for the delightfully quirky Stampotique Originals, and then more for the uber stylish Carabelle Studio. I have also produced many instructional videos for both Gel Press and Grafix Arts which are still available to view. Currently I am a Signature Designer for the fabulous PaperArtsy and continue to design a range of stamps and stencils, and to share my quirky and colourful ideas :-)

For many years I wrote a blog (because blogs were one of the first ways we all connected on-line back in the day!) I no longer actively blog but there are many links, useful resources, and many years of archived posts still available to view so do have a look - thekathrynwheel.blogspot.com

I have a passion for sharing, and have taught many mixed media and art journaling classes over the years both in person and on line in various countries - all over the UK, The Netherlands, Italy, Norway ... and I am also enthusiastic about drawing, printing and rubber stamping. I continue to teach both in-person and on-line and also demo at a variety of retails shows, so maybe I'll see you there one day?!

When I've got a free moment I also like to dabble in ceramics, sewing, knitting, crochet - you name it I've probably had a go! My art can be recognised by my love of colour and also a touch of whimsy. I am at my happiest when surrounded by acrylic paints, crayons, pencils, rubber stamps, and you can usually spot me by the paint up my sleeves.
